I would like some English weather now please to clear my sick musty head. Or perhaps a dip in that pool in Versailles. A lake is a lovely thing.
Sometimes, even now, when I have trouble sleeping, I try to imagine that I am lying in that rowboat, my head pillowed on the cross-slats of the stern, water lapping hollow through the wood and yellow birch leaves floating down to touch my face.
This for some reason was everyone's favourite painting in Musee D'Orsay. Mr Harris commented on that. "The subject's not beautiful or anything. We're all just drawn to it."
